Guerilla Dolls

The menopause of women is still a taboo, something that should not be seen or discussed. All women between the ages of 45-60 go through the menopause. In the Netherlands this is more than 2 million women. Characteristics of the menopause are hot flashes, mood swings, sadness and insomnia. It is a phase that has an impact on many women and sometimes lasts up to 10 years.

Guerilla Doll literally makes the transition visible by placing miniature images of women in the transition in the public space. The miniatures are made from recycled material (PLA) which is biodegradable.

The Guerrilla Dolls will be available from Thursday September 22 in central and southern Utrecht.

Join us and break the taboo: take a guerrilla doll and put it somewhere else in the public space. Take a photo of where you put it and send it by email to ellen@abfabflashes.nl.

See www.vuurvrouw.nu for more information about the transition.

Guerrilla Dolls was made possible in part with support from the municipality of Utrecht.
